Metallica, The Black Album

     This was a tricky one, I seem to choose those pretty frequently. The Black Album by Metallica was their biggest mainstream release and the second Metallica album that I created after Master of Puppets. The only art on this album is a shadow of a logo and the Don’t tread on me snake at the bottom of the album. Since this is a dark brooding album I decided to embroider an abstract spiral in black yard. The yarn adds a texture and depth to the black background. I embroidered both the logo and snake as patches and collaged them at the end.
