Green Day, American Idiot

     I have been a fan of Green Day since the early days but American Idiot is my favorite album of theirs. I have always thought of this as a play. In fact, they turned it into one that ran for a few years. The graphics are great for this cover. They remind me of vintage propaganda posters from the color war. When I was creating the embroidery from the cover, I started by embroidering a leopard print pattern in the background using laser cut fabric, very punk rock. The hand and heart grenade was created using red and white yarn with the logo created as a patch.
