Moondance is on of the most iconic albums of all time. I grew up with my parents playing this album as well as all of the songs constantly being played on FM radio. 50 years later the album is still amazing. The album cover features a series of portraits of Van Morrison in sepia toned colors. Since the cover consists of mainly portraits with a simple title block I decide to use wool thread in a photo stitch style. The portrait was created with over 100,000 tiny stitches in over 30 layers of color. My goal was to recreate these emotional photos in thread and the end result is stunning. The title bar was created as a patch and mounted onto the album as the final step.
