     This is one of the Allman Brothers most famous albums from the 1970’s. The cover using a family photo of a little boy standing in a field was a technical challenge because of all the small details in the environment. The band had suffered two losses the previous year with the deaths of Duane Allman (1971) and Berry Oakley (1972.) The photo captures a moment of innocence and hope as if to declare everything would be alright. The child was stitched in a thinner rayon thread to accentuate the details of his hair and clothing. The logo was created as a patch and then mounted onto the album cover. There are over 100,000 hand digitized stitches on this album cover. Upon closer examination you can see individual stitches that adorn the cover.
