     This was a piece that I created as a commission for a long time collector of my work. Finding the actual album was difficult. Any release between 1990 and 2010 is very hard to find. Some recordings were never turned into vinyl albums or if they were, they were produced in very limited quantities. I tracked the Kala album down and began work on it. The graphics on the album were created in a digital cut and paste style and there was a lot of detail on the piece. I instantly knew I had to create the piece with a mix of direct embroidery and appliqué patches. There were 12 different patches created; all of the lettering, portraits and center medallion. The details in the background were stitched with wool thread in an abstract style.
