Bob Dylan, Blood on the Tracks
Embroidery stitched directly through a vinyl record sleeve.
12x12x2 inches, framed in acrylic.
Choosing my first Bob Dylan album was not easy. I chose Blood On the Tracks because the original cover is so artistic. The album cover is a profile of Bob Dylan created in a pointillist style. This proved to be a challenge in the digitizing process. I embroidered this by digitizing tiny circles, thousands of times in over 40 colors. The tiny circles when stitched create small dots that resemble a the original style of the album artwork. The title bar to the left was create with a folded fabric quilting technique with the lettering stitched right through the fabric.
